Jurusan Ilmu Kelautan FIKP UMRAH dalam kesempatan kali ini diwakili oleh Sekretaris Jurusan Risandi Dwirama Putra M.Eng yang didampingi oleh Wakil Dekan Bidang Akademik, Kemahasiswaan dan Kerjasama FIKP UMRAH Azwin Apriandi M.Si dan Staff FIKP UMRAH melakukan kunjungan ke Pusat Penelitian Oseanografi (P2O) LIPI di Ancol Jakarta pada tanggal 20 April 2019.

Tujuan kunjungan ini adalah untuk melakukan evaluasi terhadap program magang yang selama ini dilakukan oleh Mahasiswa Ilmu Kelautan  di P2O LIPI. Selama ini P2O LIPI sering dijadikan tujuan Mahasiswa Ilmu Kelautan UMRAH baik untuk melaksanakan magang maupun penelitian. Pada kesempatan kali ini P2O LIPI diwakili oleh bagian humas yaitu Sofie Y. Sani. Berdasarkan data selama ini, umumnya topik di bidang Kimia Laut dan Biologi laut yang sering dijadikan topik magang dan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh Mahasiswa Ilmu Kelautan UMRAH.

P2O LIPI menegaskan bahwa  Mahasiswa FIKP UMRAH memberikan hasil positif dalam kegiatan magang di LIPI dan berharap program magang mahasiswa dapat terus berlanjut, P2O LIPI juga membuka kesempatan apabila  jika ada mahasiswa yang tertarik untuk meneliti dan di bimbing oleh peneliti di P2O  LIPI dan yang terakhir yaitu P2O LIPI sangat terbuka jika Ada kegiatan yang berakiatan dengan penelitian, mahasiswa UMRAH dapat terlibat, khususnya yang sejalan dengan project LIPI. Pada kesempatan kali ini juga pihak P2O LIPI menyerahkan empat buah Buku Populer terkait Ekspedisi Nusa Manggala yang telah dilaksanakan pada tahun 2018 di pulau-pulau kecil terluar di Provinsi Maluku Utara, Papua dan Papua Barat. Pada kegiatan ekspedisi tersebut juga melibatkan dua dosen yang berasal dari Jurusan Ilmu Kelautan UMRAH yaitu Risandi Dwirama Putra yang melakukan kajian terkait bioekologi ikan karang dan Aditya Hikmat Nugraha yang melakukan kajian terkait ekosistem padang lamun.
